Full or partially matching serial numbers can be found on frame, barrel, cylinder, cylinder post, backstrap, trigger guard, loading lever and wedge. Features full octagon barrel, five shot single action, percussion one piece varnished walnut grips, silver plated trigger guard and backstrap, case colore frame, loading lever and hammer; blued barrel and cylinder. The cylinder is roll engraved with a nearly 100% stagecoach hold-up scene, retains all original nipples, safety pins flattened. New York barrel address on top barrel flat. Colt's patent on left side of frame. Barrel has flashes of blue but is basically a soft freckled patina and grey. Visible case coloring on loading lever, frame has patterned out. 85% silver plate on straps. Cylinder is patina. Fairly straight screws. Razor sharp edges and legends. Grips are excellent to near mint. Indexes and locks up tight. Strong rifled bore with some black powder residue. Fine example of a scarce barrel length Model 1849.
