Probably circa 1830-1850. Weighted hilt of German silver in the style of New York maker Rose. Relief clam shell-shaped pommel. The tapered steel diamond section blade is unmarked. Both sides of the hilt with engraved panels. CONDITION: Blade retains a grey patina with scattered dark spots and minor marks from sharpening. Hilt has some denting and minor repairs, front face of oval guard is absent. The knife overall has a very nice, early appearance.
