Gun (A) is a Smith & Wesson Triple Lock manufactured 1914-15. Manufactured at the start of World War I, chambered for the British military caliber and sent to Great Britain. It is your basic, early Smith & Wesson Triple Lock Hand Ejector Model with blued finish, case colored hammer and trigger, and gold medallion diamond checkered walnut grips with lanyard ring. All British proof marks. Nice color on hammer and trigger. Retains approximately 85% original factory blue finish with high edge wear overall, some minor age freckling and grip straps. Stamped on left side of frame is "R.E.T. HUDDART RIFLE BRIGADE". Grips have a few dings, which is to be expected from a World War I revolver. Indexes and locks up like new. Gun (B) is basically a standard Smith & Wesson Model 1917 that was manufactured in .455 Eley (tested) and was sent to Great Britain for World War I issue. Features six shot, double action with smooth walnut grips and lanyard ring. Butt is stamped "US ARMY MODEL 1917". Bottom of barrel is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", left side of barrel is stamped "S&W DA 45". Left side od barrel and frame have numerous British proofs marks and stamped "NOT ENGLISH MADE". Every cylinder chamber is stamped with British crown. Matching serial number on back of cylinder indicated this gun was manufactured for the .455. Revolver retains approximately 85% of the English reapplied finish with bright case colors on hammer and trigger. Excellent grips. Like new action. Strong, clean bore. This is a really nice lot of two English Smith & Wesson N frame Hand Ejector Model revolvers. Would have seen action in the trenches of World War I on the belt of British officers.
