Gun (A) was manufactured 1942. Features six shot, double action, blued finish with silver medallion checkered walnut grips. .357 Magnum is a relatively scarce caliber in this model, introduced late in production. While this revolvers show 60% and shows only light wear, it appears as if a chemical came in contact with this gun, leaving numerous speckled marks all over, especially on cylinder. We are sure this gun will shoot fine and the legends are razor sharp. Excellent walnut grips with a Mershon grip adapter. Gun indexes and locks up like new with a strong, clean, near mint bore. Really needs to be refinished as it is quite unsightly. Gun (B) is a U.S. Colt Model 1909 manufactured 1911. Gun has a reapplied matte finish blue of which about 50% remains and exhibits the same spotting as the other New Service. Right side of the frame has the inspector stamped "RAC" for Renaldo Carr and "FB" for Francis Baker. Underside of barrel is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Butt is stamped "US ARMY MODEL 1909". Has refinished two piece walnut grips with no readable cartouche. Back of cylinder is also stamped "RAC". Excellent grips. Fine action and bore. Razor sharp legends. Another gun that would benefit greatly from restoration.
