Made at the Colt factory for export to England, the right side of the frame has the crossed cannons cartouche along with two British proofs marks and stamped "NOT ENGLISH MAKE". Left side of the frame is stamped "GHD" for inspector Guy Dewey and proof "P". Left side of slide has the 1913 patent date with pony in center. Top of slide has a "P". Right side of slide is stamped "NOT ENGLISH MAKE" with British proof, also stamped "RELEASE BRITISH GOVT 1952" which is the rear that is was repatriated back to the United States. Features the dark matte parkerized type finish and Keyes type brown World War II plastic grips. Mix of parts to include short checkered wide spur hammer, checkered safety, checkered slide stop, serrated arched mainspring housing with loop, short checkered trigger. Left side of barrel is stamped "COLT 45 AUTO" with "P" on lug. Right side of barrel is stamped "NOT ENGLISH MAKE" with three British proofs. Retains approximately 97-98% of the arsenal applied finish with the usual minor storage marks. Fine bore and action.
