Between World War One and World War Two, the hunter had very little options when purchasing a bolt action sporting rifle. The majority of americans were still hunting with lever guns, but the Great War had exposed millions of exserviceman to the bolt action rifle. P. F. Sedgley started a cottage business by recycling surplus model 1903 actions where upon he would add a new barrel to the caliber of your liking, install sporting high ramp front sight, adding a lyman 48 receiver sight, and restocking these rifles in their traditional Griffin and Howe type walnut stock with a delicate schnauble forend rather than the black rounded G&H type, utilizing lovely straight grained American walnut with an ample checkered pistol grip and a cap. This rifle has a solid brown rubber pad added. The stock is in excellent to near mint condition with a few light impressions. Barrel and frame were beautifully polished and blued which 98%+ still remains. The floorplate and trigger guard were surplus milled 1903 parts that were also beautifully blued of which 90% remains with some patina striations. Strong clean shiny bore.
