Manufactured in 1883. Special order deluxe Winchester 1876 rifle. Features include; Octagonal blue barrel and button magazine. Lyman front sight with bead and globe.Rear sporting ladder sight. Case hardened action and lever. Highly figured walnut stocks. Fore-stock has a wrap around checkered panel. Rear pistol grip stock has two checkered panels at the wrist. Gun retains approximately 10% of the original factory finish in protected area's. The remainder has turned to a pleasing gray patina. Wood is proud to metal with showing handling and storage marks. Called the Centennial Rifle, the 1876 Winchester was introduced to celebrate the United States 100 years of independence. This rifle was made to answer the need for a cartridge that was much more powerful than the earlier Winchesters could offer.
