Twin Damascus steel barrels with single silver bead and solid rib marked "J. WILKES/ LATE OF J.D. DOUGALL & SONS, MAKERS TO HRH THE PRINCE OF WALES/ 1 LOWER JAMES ST., GOLDEN SQUARE, LONDON". Casehardened boxlock actions engraved with spiraling English scrolls, both sides marked "J. WILKES/LONDON". Features automatic thumb safeties, extractors, and double triggers. Partially figured English walnut straight stock with checkered wrist and serrated butt. Splinter forearm with checkered panel and Anson release. Good to very good condition, barrels retain most of thinning original brown finish and bores are very good and shiny. Action is tight and functions well. Actin retains most of faded case colors, mostly turned to brown and silver. Stocks very good, some scattered marks from use and marring to checkering. Forearm has a couple chips on each die, along barrels. Overall, a very nice English shotgun by a high quality maker.
