24 inch H.S. 2-44 barrel with type 3 handguard and finger groove JFC inspected bitt stock. Smoother WW1 butt plate. WW2 replacement sight adjustment knobs. Cocking knob slotted for pacific tang sight. The MK1 is ported fro the Pederson semi-auto conversion device of 1918. Rifle has been upgraded from this configuration for issue to WW2 troops and was probably intended for the invasion of Mainland Japan. MK1 trigger and sera have been upgrade to std, 1903 pattern. Bore is very good , bright and shiny with string rifling. Action operates properly. Metal is WW2 green /grey parkerized finish and over 90% remains with losses at muzzle and edges of trigger guard. Wood is lightly sanded but very good. comes with Springfield pattern 1905 bayonet with khaki 1910 scabbard with leather tip. Blade marked SA 1909 and is black phosphate finished and has been sharpened. Scabbard is slightly soiled but very good.
