With 60 .410 DHE's estimated by THE PARKER STORY, this scarce gun also matches all specifications listed in the Parker Identification and Serialization ledger. It has 26" barrels as do nearly all but one of the estimated total. They are marked with Parker's famous Meriden CT. address and "Titanic" steel on their matted rib. Barrel flats and lumps have all correct original markings, and are not overload proofed. Case hardened 000 frame has all correct marks on water table which has milled out lightening cuts. Action also features automatic safety and double triggers. Action is engraved in classic "D" style with single dogs on sides; pointer on left, setter on right surrounded by scroll and with PARKER BROS in serpentine band behind each scene. Trigger plate is engraved with typical nye of pheasant. Blued trigger guard with scroll on bow, has SN on tang. Lightly stump figured American walnut round knob pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/8" over original skeleton steel buttplate. Stock features typical "D" styling with lozenge shaped drop points, point pattern checkering, and vacant large silver oval. Matching splinter ejector forend with inset steel tip and typical Parker release, has SN and patent date on iron. Fine condition. Barrels retain over 80% original blue, perhaps augmented a bit. Action retains 30-40% original color, strong where protected, the balance a mottled pewter gray with some brown spotting, most noticeable on trigger plate. Trigger guard retains most of what is most likely an old re-blue, slightly silvered and browned. Stocks retain approximately 90% original varnish, with a number of light marks and a few heavier dings. Checkering is lightly worn, dark, and somewhat dirty. Bores are excellent. Action is tight. Mechanically excellent. Possibly as fine an example of this super rare Parker, as one would ever find.
