20 Gauge, 26" and 28" Barrels by Winchester are gold inlaid "1" and "2" with later unmarked 28" 16 and 28 gauge barrels. 0 Frame. The 20 gauge barrels have 3" triangles of well cut scroll on breech ends, and engine turned flats with proofs. 26" Barrels are choked IC and mod, 28 guage Barrels are choked mod and full. 16 gauge barrels are choked mod and full. 28 gauge Barrels are choked IC and Mod. Small frame case hardened Parker reproduction action with automatic safety and gold-plated single selective trigger is nicely filed with three beads around fences, chevron on top lever, and pierced thumbpiece, is engraved with near full coverage exceptionally well cut and shaded large open scroll with acanthus and floral highlights. There are floral bursts on fences. This is a copy of an original A-1 Special pattern. "Parker Bros" is on bottom of action in late Parker style. This fine scroll extends to trigger plate where it surrounds exceptionally well detailed scene of three red grouse driven from open hilltop and flying toward viewer. Two have turned off, while another is "in your face". This unique presentation is by the well known American engraver, Frank Conroy, whose signature is on front portion interior forend iron. Trigger guard bow has more scroll and flowers surrounding three piercings. Serial number is inlaid in gold on tang. Dark veined, lightly figured attractive European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14" over skeleton steel buttplate engraved to match action. Stock is finished and carved in traditional A1 Special style with large fleur-di-lis intrusions into checkered side panels, Fleur-di-lis drop points and fancy pattern checkering which completely wraps around grip, and has extensions into comb. A vacant gold oval is on toe line. Matching splinter ejector forend with well filed steel tip and Parker type release has border engraving on interior of iron and serial number inlaid in gold. Gun and 20 gauge barrels are housed in brown leather case with stitched leather corners in light brown canvas outer cover. Interior of case is lined in burgundy cloth and has room for gun and two sets of barrels. 20 gauge barrel sets are accompanied by their original boxes. Also included are consignors notes regarding history of this gun, and people who worked on it. Excellent condition, close to new with light evidence of being fired, with faint halos on breechface, and rubs on trigger. There are a few light marks in stock finish. All bores are excellent. Mechanically excellent. Case is excellent.
