Partially-printed bond, co-signed by Captain John Miles and Captain-Lieutenant Henry Waring of the 2nd Continental Artillery, dated 8 May 1780, in which Waring is appointed to recruit men for their regiment in the state of Connecticut and whereby they pledge a "penal sum" of One thousand pounds to the state should they default in proper expenditure and accounting of funds drawn by Waring for such purpose.
