Offered is a handsome, big bore, large frame, six shot, double action revolver built on the Tranter Patent with blue finish, case colors cylinder and checkered walnut grips. The loading lever is stamped "TRANTERS" as is left side of frame. Barrel retains approximately 80% of the original bright English blue. Frame retains approximately 30% original blue, balance soft patina as are trigger guard and front strap. Left sideplate has been reblued. 30% original case colors on cylinder, balance patterned out. Grips are near mint. Action is like new. Strong, clean rifled bore. Rests in an original James Rigby period correct case with green felt lining. Comes with a turnscrew, cleaning rod and James Dixon oil bottle. Excellent large bore cartridge revolver. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
