Pistol is finished in the original Colt blue finish with silver medallion checkered walnut grips, full blued magazine with properly marked base. Right side of the frame is marked "US PROPERTY" and there are no other military markings. According to John W. Brunner in the book "The Colt Pocket Hammerless Automatic Pistols II" on page 98, that some of the final shipments are known to have been marked "US PROPERTY" but they lack Ordnance marks. According to John, 15 pistols between serial number 567218-572202 were sent to the Washington Quartermaster Depot. This is an early pistol manufactured in 1942 in the scarcer blue finish rather than the later parkerized finish. There is a hint of high edge wear, but gun is basically near new inside and out with 99% factory blue. Fine bore and action. Comes in a reproduction box with a wrapped extra magazine, instructions and cleaning rod. A fine, fairly minty, blued General Officer's pistol. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
