During it's period of popularity, many makers in the United States and all over the world copied the popular and sought after percussion pocket pistols by Henry Deringer. This high quality example, measuring 6" overall, is unmarked and highly resembles the pistols by Deringer in form, engraving, style, and quality. It features a round barrel with top flat, small sights, and scroll engraved patent breech. Back action percussion lock and German silver furniture, all engraved with scrolls in nearly the identical style of those found on pistols by Deringer. Partially figured walnut stock of familiar Deringer form with checkered panels around grip. Very good condition, lock and barrel retain a brown patina with a few scattered marks from use, nipple and lock retaining screw are replacements. Furniture retains a mellow patina, stock has a few scattered marks from use, minor age cracks,and some high edge wear. A very nice period counterfeit of a Deringer! From the G.
