Manufactured from 1861 to 1874. Features six shot, full octagon barrel with rib, non-fluted cylinder, single action, built on a tip-up frame, spur trigger, smooth rosewood grips on square butt. This lovely revolver shows no actual signs of use. Finished in the rich Smith & Wesson royal blue finish with an almost Nitre blue cylinder and Niter blue hammer. Gun retains approximately 75% of the finish overall with balance simply due to flaking and homogenous soft patina. Razor sharp edges. Strong case colors. Near mint grips. Strong rifled bore. About as nice a condition as you can find in one of these early revolvers. Comes in a period case with homemade cleaning rod, wood handle turnscrew, small oil bottle and a small note that states the case was manufactured by the same company that made cases in Birmingham London for Sharps, Tipping & Layden. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
