(Gun A) British No5 Jungle carbine dated 7/44. Cal .303 British. 20 1/2 inch barrel including cone flash hider, Lightweight version of the SMLE with 10 round detachable magazine. Receiver marked No5MK1ROF(F) with serial number A508. Bolt is correct pattern but non-matching number. Over 80% black epoxy finish on metal with fine bore with strong rifling. Stocks are very good with additional coating of hard oil finish applied. Mechanics operate properly. (Gun B) Commercially produced No5 Jungle carbine dated 1944. 21 1/4 inch barrel including cone flash hider. 3 piece Jungle carbine pattern stocks. 10 round detachable carbine. Serial numbered PEPE0001. It is believed this rifle was produced in Indian or Pakistan using a combination of existing British parts and locally produced parts. The rifle is very fine condition with little indication of use. Excellent blue finish overall with bright shiny bore.
