There is nothing so beautiful in the gun world than the mid-19th century finish on quality English handguns. The octagon barrel blends smoothing into the frame. The cylinder has a decorative border and is case colored. Loading plunger and double trigger are plated. Butt cap is case colored. Checkered walnut varnished stocks are like a piece of furniture. The small parts have the brilliant Nitre fire blue. Frame is polished with the royal English blue. All markings are razor sharp. Case colors have darkened and patterned but are completely visible. There is no roughness anywhere. The muzzle is border engraved. All English proofs. Cylinder shows no signs of having ever been fired. Comes in a beautiful oak case with a Dixon copper bag powder flask, Dixon oil bottle, can of green label W. Tranter's lead bullets, and a can of Eley Bros. pistol caps. All the copper tings have the beautiful rainbow hue and the labels are as close to near mint as possible. There is a wood handle turn screw, nipple wrench and cleaning jag with brass top. There is also a two cavity brass bullet mold with blued cutter stamped "TRANTERS PATENT" in near new condition. This outfit is about as high condition as if you walked into a store in London today to buy it new. All housed in a green lined walnut case with brass plaque. An absolutely fantastic mid-19th century mid-frame percussion double action revolver. From the G. Thomas Puett Collection.
