Standard mid-war issue Remington Rand that features matte parkerized factory finish, brown composition Keyes star grips, checkered non-spur hammer, short checkered trigger, serrated arched mainspring housing with loop, serrated slide stop, checkered safety, flat top rear sight with beveled corners. Left side of slide is stamped "REMINGTON RAND INC SYRACUSDE NY USA". Top of slide is stamped "P". Left side of slide is stamped "FJA" for Frank Atwood. Right side of frame is stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY M1911A1 US ARMY" with Ordnance wheel at rear of frame. Parkerized barrel is a later replacement with "45 AUTO" and numbers on chamber and "MP" indicating a post-World War II barrel. Magazine is matte finish post-war replacement. Fine bore and action.
