In 1914 Colt reached an agreement with FN to license the manufactured of the 1911 pistol in Norway, titled the 1914 Model. Under Nazi occupation from1 940 to 1945 production of the Model 1914, which had ended in 1933, resumed as the Pistole 657N and were issued to German forces in Norway. Full or partial matching numbers on left side of slide, left side of frame, left side of trigger, slide stop, safety, arched grip safety, flat mainspring housing and barrel. The gun wears a rather crude military black phosphate war-time finish; much of metal unpolished. 85% of this original war-time finish remains. American made magazine s stamped "C-S:. Features case colored wide spur checkered hammer, checkered slide stop and safety, flat mainspring housing with lanyard, diamond checkered walnut grips. Right side of slide is dated 1942. Fine bore and action. Excellent example of World War II Nazi manufactured Norwegian Model 1914.
