The factory letter shows serial No. 404309 as a 2" blue, .38 caliber Detective Special with the cut-away trigger guard, round butt, hammer spur filed off and shipped to Albert Foster Jr. (lone account), New York on March 11th, 1932. This factory letter confirms this revolver as a genuine Fitz Special. Features six shot, double action, blued finish, fixed sight, checkered trigger, silver medallion checkered walnut grips and the additional Fitz factory alternations. Gun shows a hint of muzzle wear, light drag line and a spot of wear on right side. Still retains 98% of the original factory finish. Grips are excellent to near mint. Indexes and locks up like new with a mirror bore. This is the real deal.
