Manufactured 1942. Springfield barrel dated 2-42. with British proofs on chamber. Early parts through out including narrow front sight with capped tensioner screw. Square cut operating rod. Long knurled spring guide. Early sight with our locking bare. Early rounded center band with solid pin. Milled trigger guard. All observed parts are Springfield. Three piece walnut stocks are good overall condition with moderate oil and darkening Very good and authentic "SA / GHS" in box cartouche on stock. Bore has numerous spots of corrosion and requires a good cleaning. Mechanics are fine and in proper order. A very good early WWII production and obviously used in the European theater battle rifle. Includes a green cotton M1 sling.
