First quarter 19th century, Continental. This mechanical figure of a woman mounting on a plateau, further mounted on a box within which contains the various rods that connects to the mechanism within her body. When the figure is operated from the small rods, her articulated arms move at shoulder and elbow and her head turns side to side or makes a nodding movement. The whole with classical revival paint decoration. This object retains what appears to be all original paint decoration, the female figure with losses to torso and right shoe, the rear cover to the figure is absent, the mechanism appears partially operational but would need a complete restoration to function as it was designed.
Item Dimensions: 25-3/4" x 14 - 1/2" x 10 - 1/2".
