A rarely encountered pre-WWII Mauser standard rifle in 8mm Mauser. Rifle's metal finish is near mint with over 90% of the correct original finish. Bore is excellent. Stock is the correct Model 98 stock, also in excellent condition with a number of dark spots on the wood and light dings and handling marks. The initials "WHB" have been stamped on to the right rear of the stock. Barrel, receiver, and trigger guard have the correct matching five digit serial number. Floor plate has the last two digits of the serial number. No other parts are numbered. Bolt is unfinished and buttplate is blued. Rifle includes the correct front bands, bayonet lug and cleaning rod. Sling swivel on rear band. A unique opportunity to own a rare rifle.
