These scarce arms are a featured chapter in Chris Curtis’s book the "Lefaucheaux Style Revolvers". Dating from the mid-18th century, the little multi-shot pocket cannons were easy to conceal and packed a punch. This example is not marked where it can be seen, no serial number, maker or inspection stamps. A nearly identical shaped example can be found on page 252 in the book. The book example is engraved but the shape of the gun itself is almost a mirror image. Another can be seen on page 249. This gun is a six shot 7mm with an 1-3/4" cylinder and no barrel. "Arendt Brevette" is stamped on front cylinder axle pin. Light engraving on frame and cylinder. Dark walnut grips. Overall grey patina. Folding trigger and indexes fine.
