Gun (A) Serial No. 68742 is beautifully engraved in the factory style referred to as cloud, or doughnut scroll. Barrel address engraved in script "Sam'l Colt". Revolver has realistically rendered dog on left side of barrel lug and all screws are engraved except one backstrap screw. All numbers match. Barrel retains nearly all of its original bright factory bluing with only minor edge wear. Lever and frame have typical soft grey case colors. Cylinder has stagecoach scene and original bluing fading to a pleasing mix of blue and brown. Backstrap and trigger guard retain nearly all the original heavy silver plating. "Colt's Patent" engraved in reserve on left side of frame. Cylinder safety pins present but somewhat worn. Gun (B) Serial number 68743 has similar engraving to the first. Barrel retains much original bright blue; lever and frame have dull grey case colors. Colt's patent engraved in the reserve on the left side of frame. Barrel with scrip "Sam'l Colt" address. Backstrap and trigger guard retain most heavy silver plating. Cylinder safety pins are damaged. The ivory grips on both revolvers fit very well and show a lovely grain. These were not removed to check for internal numbering. There is a minor epoxy repair on right side at toe. Wedge screw, one loading lever screw and a trigger guard screw have been replaced. Revolvers are cased in a deluxe mahogany case with blue lining. An eagle flask with crossed Colt revolvers which has some original lacquer; spout and top have gilding. Screwdriver with most original fire bluing, Colt bullet mold, two Eley's cap tins and one paper packet are present. A very rare and luxuriously engraved set of Colt revolvers. This was one of Dr. Feldman's favorite cased sets and is sure to be a favorite of the fortunate purchaser.
