Factory letter states that this revolver was shipped July 30th, 1954 to Evaluators Lt. Quantico, Virginia with a 6 - 1/2" barrel, Patridge front sight, target hammer, blue finish and checkered walnut grips. Total of nine units in shipment. Introduced in 1951 and built on square butt N frame with five screw. Has the target adjustable rear sight; target hammer and standard trigger, both case colored. Matching numbers on barrel, cylinder and right grip panel. Sports a pair of silver medallion, black disk, diamond checkered walnut grips in excellent condition. Revolver shows muzzle wear, high edge cylinder wear, drag line and some light scratches on both sides of frame. Rear sight needs a shorter front screw to tighten up front rear sight tang. Indexes correctly with fine bore. Still retaining 85% original blue. Fine early Target .44.
