Offered is a pre-1883 four digit serial number standard Marlin large caliber rifle. Features full octagon barrel, full magazine, knife blade front sight, long sporting rear sight, walnut stocks and smooth steel shotgun buttplate. CONDITION: This is a good example of a pretty much untouched rifle. There is no original finish, rather the metal is basically a dull gun metal grey with brown tones and scattered age freckling. Barrel sports a razor sharp manufacturer address and caliber stamp. Wood is original, proud to metal, solid with usual dings. Rifling is well-defined, has minor abrasion and frosted grooves. Fine action. Has a very lovely, homogeneous, antique look.
