The Whitney Kennedy was manufactured 1879 to 1886. Approximately 1,000 carbines were manufactured in both small frame and large frame. This example has the standard lever. Features full round barrel, full magazine, twin bands, post front sight, folding ladder rear sight, blued finish, saddle ring and stud, walnut stocks and rifle butt. CONDITION: This rifle retains approximately 80% of a period reapplied blued finish. There is age freckling coming through and the finish was applied with visible pitting underneath. Stocks are very good, slightly shy to metal having been refinished. Fine action. Strong, clean bore with bright grooves. Even comes with a rare original all metal three piece cleaning rod. These guns are extremely difficult to find; this rare example has a good look and should be a fine shooter with such a nice bore. Worthy of an expert restoration.
