Gun (A) Unit marked on the front band: "8.R.A.F.3.35". Dated 1892 on the receiver. Made at Erfurt. All matching numbers. "S" marked above the chamber. CONDITION: Metal surfaces have been cleaned. There is a dent in the barrel shroud. Markings are clear. Wood has been lightly cleaned at some point, with inspectors marks still visible. No serial number on stock, no longer visible on buttplate. Pitting on sides of the trigger guard assembly. Pitting on buttplate. Bore is dirty with strong rifling. Good mechanical function. Gun (B) Standard Model 88 carbine, made by C.G. Haenel in Suhl in 1890 and so marked on the top of the receiver. This gun does not have the "S" marking above the chamber. Unit marked on the rear band: "1.K.2.30.". CONDITION: Metal appears to have been refinished with some pitting along the wood line. Pitting on the bolt. Bolt handle has been renumbered to match. Trigger guard screws are not matching. Buttplate number and stock number do not appear to be original. Markings are clear. Wood has been sanded with the front of the comb having been reshaped. Bore is fine with sharp rifling. Fine mechanical function. Gun (C) Mauser KAR 88 carbine. Made at Erfurt in 1893 and so marked. "S" marked above chamber. Matching numbers. Unit marked on the front band: "17.D.4.17.". CONDITION: Retains about 40% original blue mixed with an even patina and light pitting. Markings are clear. Stock is broken at the wrist with some brass screws holding it together. There is also a split in the stock between the rear of the trigger guard and rear sling swivel base. The rear sling swivel ring appears to be a contemporary add on. All markings are clear. Bore has strong rifling with some rust and pitting. Good mechanical function.
