The Texas Commemorative was produced in 1970 only for the 125th Anniversary of Texas. Features octagon to round barrel, wind adjustable front sight, flat top Winchester sporting rear sight, half magazine, saddle ring stud and rib, blued finish, gold foil plated magazine cap, forend cap, frame, lever, and buttplate; walnut stock with fluted comb, pistol grip cap. Left side has a plaque that reads "Fifth Hartford Antique Gun Show September 11 & 12, 1974 Best Winchester Display". Comes in a beautiful custom leather case that is lined in red felt. CONDITION: 99% original blue finish. Wood is excellent. The edge of the gold buttplate have turned brown with a thumbnail area of pitting. Along the left edge of frame and tang there is some green verdigris and light bubbling and rust from poor storage. 3/4" rub of missing gold with light bubbling on right side of frame. Bore shows strong rifling but does have some powder residue.
