Lot contains: (A) Slightly curved single edge polished steel blade with King's head proof stamped on left side of ricasso and a piped spine. Blade features 16" panels of etched and gilded decoration on both sides. Spine decorated with repeating foliate patterns and etched "IRON PROOF". Right side etched with Horstmann & Sons markings. CONDITION: Very good. Retains most of original polish with some scattered dark spotting and some thinning to gold wash. (B) Straight blade with wide single fuller one each side and 15" panels of deeply etched gilded and blued decoration. German inscription at both sides of ricasso and "EICKHORN & SONS SOLINGEN" markings on one side. Blade features armorial motifs, a liberty cap, Roman soldiers and gods. Gold washed on a blued ground. CONDITION: Excellent. Retaining most of original polish, gilded and blued surfaces with some light wear and minor scattered spotting. (C) Slightly curved Damascus steel blade with two partial fullers and 18" etched and gold washed panels on each side. Right side with Horstmann markings, left side stamped with King's head proof. Motifs include large US patriotic eagle, and patriotic flags and arms motifs. CONDITION: Very good. Showing some scattered light spotting. (D) Slightly curved blade with two double fullers on each side and with 16" etched and gold wash panels. Horstmann markings and King's head proof on right side of ricasso. CONDITION: Good to very good. Some heavy brown spotting along edge on right side, otherwise very good. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
