Offered is an early hand checkered Winchester Model 88 that features round barrel, hooded front sight, folding leaf rear sight, blued finish, one piece checkered walnut stock, composite grip cap and buttplate, and sling swivels. Original Winchester magazine. Topped with a Bausch & Lomb 2-1/2x8X scope with no adjustments. Standard crosshairs and good optics. Adjustments are in the base. CONDITION: Barrel retains approximately 90% blue with numerous areas of finish loss on right side of barrel from poor storage, which makes no difference in hunting but would need to be refinished to bring it back to collector category. Frame retains the majority of the original finish. Stocks are very good to excellent with usual bumps and bruises. Fine action and strong, clean rifling.
