Offered is a standard rifle that features full octagon barrel, full magazine, white bead sporting front sight, Winchester sporting rear sight, case colored frame, hammer and lever; walnut stock and rifle butt. CONDITION: Octagon barrel retains approximately 85% factory blue, starting to dull with patina coming through. Razor sharp edges and legends. Tube and hanger are basically blue-brown smooth homogenous patina. Nose cap is patina. Both left and right sides of frame show traces of color that have basically patterned out with smooth age spotting. Bolt retains 95% original blue as does loading gate. Traces of dark color remain on lever, balance and hammer have basically patterned out. Walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal, no cracks with just a few minor bumps. Buttplate is brown patina. Fine action. Strong, defined rifling with shiny grooves. Just a nice, old attic find, used but well cared for antique 1886 rifle.
