.69 CAL. OL: 57". BL: 42". This 1816 "US" Contract Musket has its lock marked "W.L. Evans, Valley Forge" and "1829 US". The lock, now percussion, has crisp markings as does the barrel marked "L.S.", "US", and an eagle head with an "1829" date on the tang. The barrel and lock surfaces have oxidized to a medium brown and the walnut stock has original finish and crisp edges, as well as a very crisp stock. The "French Style" is the form of percussion conversion.
