.58 CAL. OL: 56". BL: 40". This 1863 "US" rifle musket has its lock marked with a crisp American Eagle and "US, Norfolk 1863". The barrel is marked with the standard eagle head and "1863". The obverse lock panel has the stamping "W.W. Welch Norfolk, ct.". The walnut stock has all of its original finish. All metal components are smooth and bright with al correct markings. The tulip head ramrod is original as are the sling swivels. The bore is excellent and this piece has seen use, but is in excellent state of presentation, including the "blued" rear sight.
