.54 CAL. OL: 48 - 1/2". BL: 33". This 1841 "US Mississippi Rifle" is marked "Harpers Ferry 1851" and also has an American Eagle and "US" on the lock markings. The barrel markings include "WW over P", "1851", and "V" and "P" on the tang area. Both the barrel and the lock have been lightly cleaned and the walnut stock carries its original surface and its edges are well-defined. The brass has a soft "mustard" color. The barrel has a bayonet added and the shorted barrel band was added, in addition to a "trumpet" style iron ramrod. Also, the barrel has been filed with an adjustable, long leaf sight with a sliding wedge. The barrel's bore is excellent.
