.58 CAL. OL: 48 - 3/4". BL: 33". This 1841 "US" Mississippi Rifle is marked "Harpers Ferry 1854" with a spread-wing eagle and "US". The lock and barrel have been "wire-brushed" bright and the brass surfaces have been polished. The walnut stock however appears to have its original surface. The barrel markings are obscured/gone from the pitting at the breech end. The barrel has been "turned down" at the muzzle to accommodate a bayonet.
