Circa 1909. This monster of a toy was one of the largest made by Marklin. The engine is a compound engine with both a high pressure and a low pressure cylinder. It includes a flyball governor, whistle, a heavy cast iron base, and an interesting crosshead that is seldom found on a toy engine. This engine is more like a scale model than a toy, yet Marklin made and sold it as a toy.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: 20" x 16". Base: 17".
MARKLIN NO. 4157/11 OVERTYPE STEAM ENGINE.
