This is a very rare example of an early Buckman vertical steam engine that was sold with four original Buckman accessories and a line shaft or transmission, all mounted in an original wood shop setting. Buckman was perhaps the earliest of the prolific American steam toy makers. The accessories are hard-to-find and almost impossible to find in this original shop set. Jr. would have seen his Father working in a shop like this one powered with a real steam engine. This toy allowed Jr. to do his own shop work just like his Father, (hopefully without too many injuries)!
