Buckman was a very early maker of American steam toys. Buckman made six models of this pumper. This model no. 38 originally sold in 1893 for $10.00, which was a great sum of money for that era. The double steam cylinders drive double water pumps for large water pumping capacity. The original paint to the frame and its pin striping is in very good condition. Except for the missing wire hitch, the engine is complete. The wood box still carries much of its original decal showing the engine model and operating instructions. Set has beautiful stenciling and is all original. Includes original wooden box with lid and partial paper label on side.

Condition: (Excellent).

Item Dimensions: 10 - 1/2" L.
