This toy demonstrate how steam can do work and how water is pumped. At ordinary speeds, the pump will throw water up to 6 feet (I am sure Mother appreciated this). The boiler is made of brass and has mounted a throttle whistle, filler plug, water glass, smokestack, and burner. The pump has a double balance wheel to help regulate the speed and to insure a steady flow of water from the nozzle. It also has an air chamber that further steadies the flow of water from the pump. This is the early boiler configuration. Introduced circa 1896 and produced into the mid-1930s.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: 8 - 1/2" x 7 - 1/2". Base: 8 - 1/2".
