Atwood Motors of Montrose, California is believed to have made these boats in the 1950s or 1960s. When found, they usually are in their original boxes. After all, this boat mixes a fiberglass or plastic hull with an alcohol burner to heat the water to make steam. Not a good combination. It is assumed that many of the boats melted and are at the bottom of some lake or pond.
