Includes original cardboard box. The box has a decal on its side showing the engine and giving instructions on its operation. The engine was made circa 1882 to 1895. It was offered to boys for selling five new subscriptions to the “Youths Companion” or it could be purchased for $5.00. It was sold by Montgomery Ward in 1895 for $4.50. It has iron framework, a weighted safety valve with the original weight together with the original burner. It is interesting that it appears that Buckman only used a cork to close the filler hole. One wonders how many corks “popped off” while under steam. The walking beam gives this engine a very desirable uniqueness.

Condition: (Very Good).

Item Dimensions: 7" x 6". Base: 6".
