This toy Mimics the steam pile drivers of its day driving piers at docks or heavy foundations for commercial buildings. The boiler is a typical Weeden upright engine with waterglass, whistle and steam dome filler plug. The pile driver is set in motion by pressing down on the shipping lever. The hammer chord is wound on the drum until the hammer reaches the top when the drum is thrown out of gear and the hammer falls. Lot of action for an early steam toy. Some paint loss.
Condition: (Very Good).
