OL: 40”. BL: 25”. TB: Round. LM: Percussion. PB: Oval. S: Curly maple. Incise carving. Four silver inlays. This “double” Kentucky rifle is very small in size but has a normal 13 inch trigger pull, which does not preclude it from being a “boy’s or lady’s” gun. However, it may be a saddle or carriage gun as well. The curly maple stock has its original finish and the gun is in its “as-found”, untouched condition. The Kelker Bros. back-action locks are original and the right barrel is rifled while the left is smooth. The oval patchbox, silver inlays, and brass hardware are completely engraved. Although made during the muzzle-loading period, this is an uncommon piece and is very desirable due to its small size and good condition. Of special note, the engraving is filled in with red (rather than black) rouge.
KENTUCKY RIFLE.
