SLL mat Tiffany Studios New York. SLR painting by artist Cobbett Williams. This highly detailed depiction of a sumptuous drawing room filled with expensive-looking furnishings, Oriental rugs and light fixtures. A very elegant setting. Drawn and hand-colored to a high standard, with fine detail that even includes the sheen on the floor and tabletops. This is a working drawing that was not intended to be used decoratively; it was probably used as an example to show prospective clients. Tiffany Studios originally started out by designing interiors for aristocratic families' homes, and New York City theaters. Tiffany collectors who have viewed this watercolor say they have never before seen an artwork of this type, and that probably only a few exist. Walnut veneer frame has damage to LL and LR corners. Also has a few other dings and scratches. A new frame would greatly improve the presentation of this unique work.
