776. OUTSTANDING AND FINE WOOL AND SILK ISFAHAN ORIENTAL CARPET. Mid 20th Century. Mint green field, center round medallion and all over vine and flower decoration. A wide rust to red border with four smaller borders. The carpet bearing the label from the "Iranian Carpet Company" indicating that the rug "Has been manufactured by hand in the private production centers of the Iranian Carpet Company which firm is run by the government" using the best quality wool. Fine knot density having over 500 knots per sq inch. PROVENANCE: Our consignor informs us that this rug was on exhibition in the Persian Pavilion at the Montreal World's Fair in 1967 or 1968.
