.69 CAL. OL: 55". BL: 42". This fine condition musket have very clean lock markings which are "Remington, Ilion, N.York 1858 US". The smooth bore barrel is dated 1857 US, with the "U" missing, and the lock has the "Maynard Tape" priming system. The stock has its original finish and the metal parts are showing some brown here and there. All markings are clear, and the inspectors mark on the stock is very crisp as are the edges of the stock. Overall, this musket is in fine condition. Of special note is the "N.J." on the side of the barrel which indicated "New Jersey" ownership. "Remington" officially converted and "re-locked" this 1816 musket.
