.69 CAL. OL: 58". BL: 42". This 1842 "US" percussion musket has its lock dated "1848" and "Springfield" at the rear with an American Eagle motif above the "US". The barrel has the "V,P" and eagle head. All metal parts are polished and smooth. The barrel tang is also dated "1848". Many of these muskets were used in the very beginning of the Civil War. Great condition with all the markings.
